How diet affects our moods

Eating small amounts frequently helps to keep your blood sugar levels balanced and this can help one’s moods greatly.

Whenever possible, avoid high sugary foods such as cakes, sweets and biscuits. Caffeine, sugar, alcohol and fizzy drinks all act as depressants.

These foods give you a fast rush of energy but will soon wear off leaving you tired and depleted. Foods high in protein help to maintain blood sugar levels.

Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables helps with your vitamin and mineral requirements.
