Is organic food good for you?

What is the difference between organic and non-organic foods?

Organic foods can mean non-genetically modified foods or grown without the use of pesticides or spray fertilizers, but a more accurate definition is grown with fewer chemicals than non-organic food.

There are varying grades of organic food with biodynamic at the top.

Biodynamic Food

This is the highest grade of organic foods. Biodynamic farming encourages the natural cycles of growth and uses minerals and herbs to restore health to the soil.

Health Benefits of Organic Food

  1. Organic foods do not have genetically modified ingredients.
  2. Organic foods are richer in minerals and vitamins as the soil has not been depleted due to the spraying of chemicals.
  3. Organic meat contains a higher percentage of healthy fat and no added growth hormones.
  4. Organic foods are grown without poisons such as weed killers and growth sprays.
