What price do we pay for being overweight?

Foods we eat

Foods that have added sugar and fat-loaded foods are to blame and lifestyle - so much time now is spent at home on computers, watching television and movies, which are all stationary activities. Overfeeding oneself and family also contributes to this.

Health issues

Being overweight can lead to health issues such as high blood pressure, strokes, blocked arteries, heart attacks and diabetes.

Other health issues that are associated with being overweight include asthma, sleep apnoea – a temporary cessation of breathing, especially during sleep - acid reflux and fatty liver disorders.

Recognising the problem of being overweight is the first step to handling it, and it is best for one’s health and longevity to do so.

A high-fat diet and a diet high in processed foods, coupled with little or no exercise, is a sure way to put on the pounds and to wreck your health.

Thoughts of being invincible

When we are young, we tend to think of ourselves as invincible, that we will never get old, but time catches up and we are far from happy with everything that being overweight brings.

This includes excess weight, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

It is never too late to change your eating habits.

The Metabolic Weight Loss Programme is a step-by-step approach, with the aim of changing the way you are currently eating, to the way you need to eat in order to lose and maintain your weight once and for all. For a free consultation, call Rachel Ricketts on 01342 590014.
